And yet...I do not believe that Freud's work is worthless. far from it. But I agree that it must be taken critically, and so any term borrowed from it should be put in quotation marks, and then proceed to explain in what sense it makes or fails to make sense. For example "the unconscious" which is a metaphysical term although given empiricist value, still very useful to describe what people do "without knowing it"
